Input can range from the design and development of a complete garden to the reorganisation and planting of individual borders.

Site Consultation

This usually takes 2-3 hours providing the opportunity to meet, discuss all your requirements, explore various possibilities for the development of the garden, offer initial suggestions, advice and formulate ideas for the way forward. As well as providing immediate help and inspiration with regards to all aspects of the garden's development, it also forms the initial brief and the basis for further services if required.

Site Survey

A comprehensive survey of your garden will be required before accurate design drawings can be completed. The survey plots the size and shape of the garden locating all existing features onto a scale drawing. It also includes soil tests, photographs and site assessment taking into account micro climates and any views out of the garden. Small surveys can be carried out by myself or for more complicated sites, a land surveyor can be arranged.

Outline Plan

After detailed discussions about your requirements and various possibilities for the garden's development are explored, initial ideas are drawn up in sketch form illustrating the overall design concept. These are presented for discussion, offering the opportunity for any changes or new ideas to be considered before the final design is agreed.

Layout Plan

The completed design in detail is developed from the outline plan. This shows the final garden design in two-dimensional form with all the main features of the hard and soft landscaping identified. It also includes details of construction, selection of materials and forms the basis for the garden's construction.

This will be developed after close consultation and taking into account style, your specific requirements and prevailing conditions. Each plant or group of plants are identified and the planting position marked on the plan with bulb under planting.
